I used to have a hard time getting the bridge network configuration in CentOS with KVM to allow guest machines to send dhcp packets and actually get a response from the same router as my physical machines. God bless the gentle souls who offered help on the subject in forums across the internet, but for whatever reason I could not get my head around the process. I ended up using VirtualBox(which came with it’s own set of headaches, but I was able to work through those headaches and get to the finish line).

After some time, I realized that I couldn’t let go of the fact that I had been previously unable to get that bridge up and running. I did some fresh research and was able to find a few links (I will come back and post those links by 8-19)

If you’re looking to test a free Hypervisor that runs just as well on CentOS as VirtualBox then check out this link from the CentOS folks.
